Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time occupational therapy opportunity is available within a K-12 school setting located in Edgewood, NM. This contract position spans the current school year and is seeking both Occupational Therapists (OT) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) to support students across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- For COTA: Collaborate closely with the district OT while providing services across schools situated on the east side of the district, supporting a diverse caseload.
- For OT: Deliver itinerant services across multiple school sites, ensuring comprehensive therapeutic support.
- Conduct evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement interventions tailored to student needs.
- Communicate effectively with educators, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and regulatory standards.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Licensed OT or COTA with current credentials compliant with state regulations.
- Possession of a valid, finalized PED (Public Education Department) license is mandatory; candidates with pending licenses will not be considered.
- Experience working within school settings and familiarity with K-12 student populations preferred.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to manage caseloads and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and follow through with itinerant service delivery as needed.
